What I got on my Birthday?

thumb_bday1_1024

Just this past week, I celebrated my 35th birthday. Yup! I am 35 years old and I’m sure to some it’s scary while for others it’s still a good age and still young. Anyway, I am the type of person that embraces everything that comes my way so to me “Age doesn’t matter”.

So, with no further chit-chat, I would like to share with you what I got on my birthday. Just a simple reminder, I am not posting this to brag or anything but I myself love seeing other people’s posts too.

These are the few items I got for myself since I didn’t purchase the UD Gwen Stefani palette (check this out My eyes are on you! for full posts).

Like I said on my previous post, I didn’t leave Sephora empty handed because I was able to redeem my Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift. They showed me two options, the first option was from last year’s Beauty Insider gift which is a set of 2 mini NARS pencils and the second option is Marc Jacobs Beauty. I was a bit confused because I’ve always wanted to try the NARS lip pencils but I wanted to try the Marc Jacobs beauty line as well. But after checking both products out, I ended up choosing the Marc Jacobs Beauty gift set.

Who wouldn’t want to take this beauty home? The sample size lipstick looks so adorable, the packaging and the shade is gorgeous. I got the Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick  in KISS KISS BANG BANG. The shade looks like nude at first glance but when I put them on it almost have a hint of plum. They describe this lipstick as “A rich, velvety, ultra-hydrating lipstick that delivers a dramatic punch of vivid pigment and endless hours of luxurious wear”.

Meanwhile the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner is also interesting and I got the shade Blacquer 42 black. I am not a fan of eyeliner but I cannot wait to try this. It has a built in sharpener which means you don’t need to carry an extra sharpener wirh you (very convenient huh). I did a quick swatch on this Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner and this is mad serious. It stayed on my skin deeply and it took forever to come off.

While going around the store, I realized I haven’t tried any products from Sephora except for my nail file HAHA yes! a Crystal Nail File. Now, this pretty looking blush caught my eyes so without hesitation, I had to grab it.

I got the Sephora blush in the shade Coral Crush. From the name itself, I am sold! I love anything with a touch of coral in it and when I tried it I was really impressed. A wonderful shade for everyday use and the packaging is what I’m all for as well. Very sturdy, handy and most importantly the pigmentation is great! Hello Sephora Beauty how did I ignore you all this time??

Next stop is Victoria’s Secret. They were actually on sale during that time and while checking out what they have I came across this Hair and Body Mist called Tease.

I am not a huge Victoria’s Secret fan but this bottle right here came home with me without a second thought. It smells really good (I cannot explain the scent), it’s warm and it’s not over-powering. It’s long lasting and the price… yes the price! I paid $7.50 from the original price of $30.00. Such a bargain right? I actually went back the next day to stock up but I was too late and they ran out of it. Oh well, maybe next time then.

Shoes – Who doesn’t love shoes? I bought an ankle boots from Express a few years back and been wearing them since day one to present. I thought it’s time to get a new pair before my old pair will retire on me.

I got almost similar to the one I bought before except that this does have a design on the side. Just a simple everyday black ankle boots (original price $59.99 paid $23.00) another great deal indeed.

Last but not the least is the fun part. I didn’t take time off on my birthday because it’s a Tuesday and I would rather celebrate it over the weekend. But, after my crazy busy day at work this is what I found. SURPRISE!!

I was so happy when I saw the balloons. I am obsessed with balloons ever since I was young. I don’t know why? but they just make me really calm and happy. He also got me this gift which he got since December (what a torture right?) and I couldn’t wait to see what’s inside the paper bag until finally my birthday came.

First gift I got is an Alex and Ani bracelet. It says “Friend” he got me this because my hubby is my friend. I already got a few of these bracelets from my hubby and this is an addition to my Alex and Ani collection. (Incase you’re wondering why it says “Friend” that is because I already got the “Best Friend”)

OK now, the best part!

This has always been in my wishlist since forever but never ever thought of purchasing one for myself. I’ve been contemplating between the AVERY CROSSBODY and the MINI MACS and now I finally have my own. I cannot be any happier than this especially that it’s in my favorite burgundy color.

Thank you so much to my loving husband and for his beautiful birthday presents! And to all who greeted me on my Birthday. THANK YOU!

Bonus: A quick peek of my outfit during our “post birthday dinner date “last night!

Thanks for dropping by and until next time!
