Lately, I have been more conscious about my hair’s health, so I have been in search for a product that will bring back the life of my super dry and damaged hair. I’m sure you’re tired of hearing this story but unfortunately I really do have a dry and overly damaged hair.

Over a month ago, I have featured HASK Bamboo Oil Strengthening Hair Care Collection and if you’ve read my review, I was really happy with that collection.

Now, here’s an overview about  HASK Purifying Charcoal Collection.

Charcoal with Citrus Oil

This shampoo is great if you are looking for something that will cleanse your hair and removes build-up really well. This lathers way better than the Bamboo Oil Strengthening Shampoo. I use a generous amount of this shampoo since I have such a long and damaged hair. I massage this product onto my hair and scalp and leave it on for a few minutes for a better result. This shampoo smells pleasant without an overwhelming citrus scent. It also consist of tiny charcoal particles that helps cleanse your hair and this shampoo is also safe to use daily especially for those with color-treated hair like me. I recommend to use conditioner after applying this Charcoal with Citrus Oil Purifying Shampoo for a softer and even smoother hair.

Charcoal with Citrus Oil Purifying Conditioner

What can I say about this Charcoal Purifying Deep Conditioner? well, first and foremost I LOVE the SCENT of this conditioner, yes I am a sucker of amazing smell in general (who doesn’t right?) the citrus scent is just perfectly added that lasts all day but does not linger at all (which is good). I thought the Bamboo Oil Strengthening Deep Conditioner smells great but this smells so much better. Just like the shampoo, I use a handful amount of this product due to the length of my hair and this lathers beautifully and leaves my hair really soft and manageable. My scalp feels clean and refreshed with this conditioner. This has a thicker consistency compared to the regular conditioner that we have in the market. It does have a visible tiny charcoal particles as well but this washes out without a problem.

Charcoal with Citrus Oil Purifying Deep Conditioner

This purifying deep conditioner on the other hand to me is just like a regular conditioner. I was hoping that this will really condition my hair way better than a regular conditioner but nothing really, I actually like the Bamboo Oil Strengthening Deep Conditioner more better than this. It’s thicker in consistency and the color is a little bit gray (up close) and I’m sure that’s because this is made with charcoal. I had to use the entire packet that came with the collection before I see a result. It did leave my hair super soft and moisturized but a little bit greasy.

Aside from the hair care products that I received, this collection also came with a very nice hair brush to complete your hair care routine.The brush incorporates both boar bristles (if I’m not mistaken) to increase shine and nylon bristles to add smoothness.This is a decent sized brush that is convenient to throw in your purse. The bristles feels really soft and I like to use this on a damped or dry hair for some reason. It helps detangle my hair in a safe manner but does not break my fragile hair.

To sum it all, the Charcoal Purifying Shampoo leaves your hair clean, fresh and shiny too. Not the best smoothing shampoo though if that’s what you’re looking for. However, I really really like the Charcoal Purifying Conditioner especially the scent, leaving my hair smooth and moisturized but not greasy at all. I feel like my hair is now stronger, shinier and frizz-free too!

On the other hand, I am not a huge fan of the Charcoal Purifying Deep Conditioner due to the fact that I have to use a ton of products before seeing the results, though it lathers smoothly and leaving hair smells really amazing but this feels a little greasy which I dislike the most in a product. And lastly, the HASK hair brush is really nice with a soft bristles that helps brush off all the dead hair leaving my hair manageable and tangle free.

I have never tried any hair care products before that’s made from charcoal. What excites me aside from the product itself is that the key ingredient is derived from coconut shells in the Philippines (where I came from). This HASK charcoal is also combined with vitamin C-rich lemon and grapefruit oils, free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors that is safe to use no matter what your hair type is and of course not tested on animals which is one of the most important factors that we all should be more vigilant about. HASK products are made in the USA!
