NYX Cosmetics (mini-haul)

I couldn’t help myself but lay my hands on products that are new to my naked eyes. And in this post, I will be sharing of-course! another quick haul for everyone.

Let’s jump right into the items that I’ve purchased a couple of months ago and have been put to the test.

First stop are lip products. What else could it be? 😛

I got two items that aren’t stranger to me and two that are completely new to my sight.

  • I love the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick so much so I added a brighter color to my collection and this is in the shade Life’s A Beach (Bright Coral). I am a huge fan of anything with a hint of peach or coral so I gotta have it.  This retails for $6.99 at our local CVS Pharmacy. (I did a full review on the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick HERE)
  • The NYX Lip Lingerie is not as comfortable as the Liquid Suede or other liquid lipsticks out there but I really wanted to try this shade Exotic (Warm Mahogany Red). After wearing this for several times, I noticed that it gets a bit drying so I had to remove them and reapply. But this lipstick definitely last a long time on your lips. This retails for $6.99 as well at our local CVS Pharmacy. (Previous review HERE)
  • NYX Full Throttle Lipstick is something new. I bought this at ULTA a few months back and I was so excited to try it. This is in the shade Sidekick (Coral Nude) and it retails for $6.99 each. This lipstick glides on your lips like butter and it feels super lightweight. The pigmentation is not the greatest, it’s a little bit drying on the lips and it does have a weird scent (just don’t smell it so you won’t smell the scent.. LOL). The only best thing about this lipstick is that, it’s long lasting, it has a cute packaging and the lipstick design is quite unique. I’m sure to some you will enjoy this but unfortunately, this is just not for me and it’s now in my “to give away basket”.
  •  The last item that I got is the NYX High Voltage Lipstick. While searching for a source on this specific lipstick, I noticed that they did change the name and it’s now called the NYX Turnt Up! Lipstick (the packaging and the look is still the same but with a different name). This on the other hand is the total opposite of the Full Throttle Lipstick. I got the shade Sweet 16 (Soft Pink) and it does have a very subtle sweet scent to it. This glides on smoothly on the lips, super lightweight, non-drying but it doesn’t last all day (which I don’t really mind). The packaging is cute, very secure cover so it’s safe to throw in your purse and it’s wearable at anytime of the day. This retails for $5.99 at ULTA.

Next stop – Blushes!

I am not sure if this is new but I’ve never seen them before. This is the NYX HD Blush in the shade Pink the Town. It’s funny because this blush is a Peach Coral shade and not a “pink” shade just like it’s name. We all know that NYX blushes are one of the best drugstore blushes out there and this blush is for sure a great buy. This blush is highly pigmented, the color payoff is beautiful and super easy to blend. The only downside is that it fades after several hours. However, if you apply a decent amount using a great blush brush I noticed that this will help keep the blush stay on all day. I also love the packaging and how sturdy this is. This retails for $6.99 at ULTA while $6.49 at CVS Pharmacy.

The last item that I am super super in love with, is the NYX Ombre Blush in the shade Mauve Me. If you’ve followed me on my Instagram account, I’m sure you’ve seen me shared a photo of these blushes when they became available at CVS Pharmacy (CVS Pharmacy is literally right in front of my workplace and that is the reason why I’m always broke..LOL). I was confused as to what shade I’ll pick because they all looked stunning. I ended up choosing Mauve Me and I’m glad I did because this is such a beautiful shade that compliments well on my skintone.

This Ombre Blush is gorgeous. From the packaging to the blush itself and a super high quality mirror for the price of $9.99, it’s definitely worth it. If I didn’t want to wear a ton of makeup then I just use the lighter shade and if I’m in the mood for a full-on cheek day then swirl the brush all over and a full glam is right on your face! 🙂

Another great thing about this blush is that it’s super pigmented, very versatile, it’s not chalky, no fall-outs, and you get a decent size blush in a decent sized pan that lasts all day. I am very happy with this purchase and I would love to buy more shades soon.

So there you go! Have you guys tried any of the products mentioned above?

It is really beautiful, it hard to pick the shade coz they all look very similar from the outside. This was just a gamble hoping it’s the one I really want! Haha😬😄

Same here, gotta exfoliate well and lip balm before wearing them. Sucks they’re drying but it’s tolerable. Have tried worst. Haha.. if only they feel like the liquid suede.. it could be perfect! 😍

  1. So many goodies! The colour of the Full Throttle lipstick looks great but too bad it’s drying.
NYX blushes ARE fantastic – but they always miss the mark with the names, don’t they? That’s definitely not a pink colour – it’s coral!
Mauve Me looks like a shade I’d wear a lot – very neutral to balance off a stronger eye or lip.
I don’t have a lot of the newer NYX stuff but I did pick up the Avant Pop eye shadow palette in Nouveau Chic back in May – still have yet to wear it! 😛
