ColourPop (First Impression)

fotorcreated_fotor

Finally, I’m now able to share my very first impression on ColourPop cosmetics. After all the buzz, I ended up purchasing a few for myself to try.

I’ve heard so many great and not-so great reviews about this brand so I guess it’s about time to share my thoughts too.

Here are some products that I purchased.

First, when you open the box you get a welcome note from ColourPop (so sweet), then comes the goodies.

ColourPop had an awesome deal during this time, it was free shipping on $20.00 purchase and a free Ultra Matte Lip (liquid lipstick) per $10.00 spent.

While browsing their site, I was confused as there were so many beautiful shades and options to choose from.

One collection that caught my attention is the Staycation Lippie Kit.

This kit comes in a cute packaging and in six lippie stix.

Staycation Lippie Kit

Cookie: True nude beige in a matte finish
Brink: A warm dusty taupe in a matte finish
Grunge: A cool-toned plum brown in a matte finish
LBB: Rich plum wine in a matte finish
I Heart This: Red based fuchsia in a matte finish
Bossy: Classic blue red in a matte finish

I brought a few of these lippie stix during my short vaca and my sister loved them, in fact she took a couple from me (that’s what sisters do right?LOL). Anyway, I love this lipstick a lot! It’s very pigmented, non-drying, very creamy and they are long wearing too. I paid $15.00 on this lippie kit (cool deal isn’t it?).

Here are some swatches.

Please excuse the little one, he just wanted to be a part of this post. hehe

Since I haven’t tried any of their eyeshadows, I thought I’d pick one. I didn’t go crazy on the eyeshadow part but I guess one is enough for me to say Yay or Nay!

This shade looks beautiful and I don’t have anything like this in my collection so I had to add this in my cart. This was only $5.00 and it’s in the shade So Quiche.

So Quiche Shadows & Pigments

A soft olive with a highly reflective gold and pink violet glittery duo chrome metallic finish…there are no words in the dictionary to describe this. Not even urbandictionary.com .  Aka: this shade is hotter than hot – the F**king Queen of shadows.

So Quiche (Shadows & Pigments) glides on smoothly, blendable and super pigmented too. This shade is very glittery, so for those who aren’t a fan of glitters then you might not like this. However, this may have glitters but there’s no fall-outs which is good. It’s definitely not an everyday shade (my opinion anyway) but it’s a great addition to my growing eyeshadow collection.

Would I purchase Colourpop eyeshadows again? Oh definitely! I just need to pick a shade more wearable than this.

Onto the free stuff..

Since I purchased $20.00 worth of products then I got two Ultra Matte Lip freebies and I picked the shades Viper and Notion.

“This thin and lightweight formula glides onto the lips leaving SUPER intense colour with a bold, ultra matte finish. It’s very long wearing and completely kiss proof!”

Let’s take a closer look on the applicator. I couldn’t help but compare the Milani liquid lipstick to the ColourPop applicator. As you can see, the Milani is longer while the ColourPop applicator is short and a little bit “fluffy” but they both apply easily when in use.

Viper Ultra Matte Lip – You’ll really want to sink your teeth into this true dusty rose

Notion Ultra Matte Lip – We are pretty positive you are going to love this rich red violet

I became obsessed with the shade Viper and have been wearing them non-stop. My sister took the shade Notion as she is such a huge fan of dark-bold lips and she loved it. Both are gorgeous, with amazing pigmentation, non-drying and very long wearing.

I am now a huge fan of ColourPop Cosmetics especially that they are very affordable and is cruelty-free and will for sure be purchasing more lip products soon. Shout-Out to Jodi of abrashattitude for always sharing and tempting me to purchase ColourPop products (you bad girl you..LOL). So, are you a fan of ColourPop too?

The lipstick kit is an amazing deal and offers such a great variety!
But that EYE SHADOW!!! OMG I need it! I love duochrome stuff and this is so unique. I probably wouldn’t even wear it – just stare at it… 😛
So cool you got those 2 matte lip as freebies! Are they full size products?

  2. I love colourpop puppies and eyeshadows, the lippie stick are amazing, and from their liquid lipsticks the satin line is to die for! (IMHO). I love the eyeshadows as well because they’re always so pigmented and eye catching. However I personally don’t recommend their face products, I find the highlighters so glittery and impossible to blend! And the blushes are gorgeous but they don’t last on me at all, idk why

I was about to purchase the highlighters too but just by looking at it, I felt like it’s not good. I am set with MaryLouManizer for the highlighter and Wet n Wild’s too.. and I wanted to try their blush one day.. hope it will last on me.. 🙂

      1. Yeah, stay away from the highlighters. The blushes are all really beautiful, I don’t think you will be disappointed, it’s very hard for me to find a blush that last more than 4-5 hours on my skin

  3. Fantastic haul!! Colourpop is one of those brands I’m DYING to try, but I refuse to buy anything yet due to the crappy exchange rate right now.
So Quiche has been on my wish list forever…I didn’t realize it had glitter though! I might need to reconsider.
You picked two great shades for the liquid lipsticks! Notion especially is gorgeous. All of the Lippie Stix are great shades too – the little one is the best thing in the shot, though!
