My Weekend!

I’m back!!! and I am very excited to share with you how I spent my very short but sweet weekend. Last week was such a crazy week at work but I was really looking forward to spend our weekend as it’s also our Anniversary and aside from that on Thursday I just found out that I am being promoted as a Senior-HR Associate. So, we ended up having a double celebration.. 🙂

Moving on, my hubby is not a huge fan of driving in general, he hates driving and even hates flying. But, despite of all this he always make sure that we go somewhere every time we spend our Anniversary. This time he chose for us to travel and visit Niagara Falls, Canada as we all know that the best view is located in Ontario, Canada. We left on Friday 6/26 as it’s our Anniversary date and so far the weather was lovely. It was sunny and cool and no signs of rain at all. I packed few clothes and mostly summer outfits as I thought it’s going to be a sunny weekend. Worst mistake made was that, I didn’t check the weather before we left as I was very very excited for our road trip. Anyway, before we left I thought of bringing one jacket just because and wore long pants and again just because… Luckily I did because I was able to wear them when we arrived in Niagara Falls, Canada.

We stayed at Sheraton Hotel which is very close to everything. From Casino, to Restaurants and even walking distance to all the shops around as well as the falls itself.

When we arrived, we immediately went out and started exploring the area and the very first thing that captured our attention was the Upside Down House. I did post a quick update about this house and like I said, it’s very unique. We didn’t go in because well, it’s pretty obvious that everything inside is upside-down right? You can also see them just by looking at the window instead of paying to go in and see the obvious ( I’m just being practical) and we were racing with the rain too so we didn’t want to waste our time inside.

We continued walking and head directly to see Niagara Falls since the sun is still shining brightly. While on our way to the falls, we took a quick snap of the Niagara SkyWheel, Dinosaur Adventure Golf and the Skylon Tower.

The moment I saw the falls OMG! I was so amazed of how HUGE it is and how fascinating it is. So many things ran into my mind and thought “what if I will fall? will I survive?” or “I wonder how many people fell into the water every year?” and so on.. LOL I know, I Know.. weird thoughts right? But anyway, let me show you some photos that I took. I hope my Iphone camera gave justice to the view. I was just too lazy to use my Digi-cam. Let’s admit, it’s so much easier to use the camera phone than the Digi-cam. With the camera phone, you can just snap a photo and boom! posted to IG, Twitter or FB am I right?hehe!! Please tell me I’m right.. LOL 🙂 I had few photos of the falls at night because I didn’t want my camera to get wet since we went up-close and personal with the infamous Niagara Falls. We got a little wet but we were provided with Ponchos so it wasn’t that bad.

We saw the falls during the day then took the Hornblower Niagara Cruises at night and watch the Fireworks while in the middle of the falls. It was truly amazing and romantic at the same time.

After the cruise, we head immediately to Clifton Hill and bought a Fun Pass for $25 dollars. This includes the Niagara SkyWheel, Movieland Wax Museum of the Stars, 3D Ghost Blasters Dark Ride, XD Theater 6D Motion Ride Experience, Dinosaur Adventure Golf or Wizards’ Golf .

The Skywheel operates until 2AM if I’m not mistaken but the lights is only until 12 midnight. My hubby is a bit scared of heights but with my charm (hahaahah) he did join me to ride the SkyWheel. If you want to see the city lights then take the SkyWheel at night or else take it during the day.

Towering 175 feet above the Falls, the Niagara SkyWheel delivers stunning daytime and nighttime views of the Falls. Each fully enclosed gondola is climate-controlled and provides year round comfort. Canada’s largest observation wheel is not to be missed!

The next day, baaammm!! rain.. ALL DAY!!! So we had to look for some indoor activities and since I saw a billboard “Bird Kingdom” this made me want to check this place out. As soon as we walked in, this sleepy head birdy greeted everyone..HAHA and there were also some reptiles, turtles like the Soft Shell Turtle, Poisonous Frogs (that looks so cute), Cockatoo, Blue and Gold Macaws and a lot more.

2015-30-6--19-36-04Later that night, we decided to take take a walk and use our Fun Pass. We’re not a fan of Golf so we didn’t bother to check out the Dinosaur Adventure Golf and since it’s raining then it’s even better not to check that place out..Don’t get me wrong, the place looks really cool but I am more excited to see the XD Theater that offers a 6D ride experience. We went to the Game Factory and played some arcade games, like Deal or No Deal, Ghost Blasters 3D and the most exciting part is the 6D Motion Ride Experience. It also features full immersion 3D stereoscopic imaging, 2 G’s of rapid acceleration, seats that bear 400 movements per seconds, plus intense wind and lighting effects. The 6D experience was AWESOME!

After our 6D experience, we went to the Movieland Wax Museum of The Stars. I’m sorry to say but it wasn’t as great as the Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum but for the price hell yeah!!

Before we went back to the hotel, we had a quick stop at the Hershey’s store and it was cute! hehe… But Hey! I had fun taking some photos inside the store.. ❤

Sunday came so quickly and still raining… but that didn’t stop us from going somewhere else. We had an option of going to the Niagara Falls View Indoor Waterpark or The MarineLand. Guess who won?? the MarineLand!!! You know why?? because my monthly visitor paid me a visit so that deprived me from going swimming. But, the MarineLand didn’t disappoint me. I would say, it was pricey since we paid $45/person. But when I saw the Dolphins, Beluga Whales and even the Killer Whale it’s worth it. You know why? because of the amount of fish that they eat every second???woaaaahhhh $45/person is not enough. The place is huge, I’m sure the kids will love it there since there were a lot of kiddie rides too. You can also do fish feeding and watch the Black Bears in action. I also had the chance to see the dolphins up-close and even played with me. Funny that hubby was so fascinated with me and the dolphin so he was just snapping photos even if I kept saying “take a video”. HAHAHA! The dolphin tried to blow water on me over the glass which is so cute and yup! I got a little wet. HEHE. 🙂 🙂

One last stop before we ended the day/night. We went to the Pepper Place as I love anything spicy. It’s great because they had testers and I actually found one hot sauce that tasted really yummy! It’s the Mango Flavored Hot Sauce and since I love Mango especially the green mango and Spicy/Hot at the same time then it’s the perfect combination. I bought just two bottles and I’m sure this will last me a while.

My fave part??? to be honest is the drive..just the gesture that my hubby drove that far is worth it.. I know how much he doesn’t like to drive but he did it anyway with arms wide open.. 🙂 But! aside from the drive, seeing the falls is amazing.. really beautiful and of course… seeing the dolphins and every time I remember that he was playing with me is truly a memory to remember for sure! 🙂 ❤

  1. Congrats on the promotion! And the anniversary! 🙂
So glad you enjoyed your time at Niagara Falls – I’ve gone in the Maid of the Mist boat ride and basically got soaked from all the mist, even with the ponchos! 😛
Sorry you were here on the WETTEST weekend we’ve had this year – it literally rained on the Pride parade! 😦
Your post makes me want to be like a tourist and go to all those places, hehe!

It’s shame you didn’t do a little research before visiting Marineland as it has one of the worst records for marine mammal deaths of any facility in the world.
If you really truly love those animals, respect and appreciate them by not supporting their captivity. Your day of fun means a lifetime of misery for them.

I thought about that but on the other note.. Im also glad I went even though I paid a lot at least I’m able to help pay for their food as they eat a lot!😱 If you want to see more.. I suggest you watch “The Cove” if you haven’t and it will really break your heart..
