Paris Hilton Strobing Kit?

While strolling around the mall, I ended up checking out Burlington Coat Factory and their beauty section. I don’t normally go to this area but it seemed like they have some cool stuff that needs to be seen.

Now, during my digging with all the “never been seen before” goods, this Paris Hilton Strobing Kit popped up and yup! I took this beauty home without hesitation. This was the last kit around so I thought ehh.. why not? it only cost me $4.99.

But before we get into this kit, let me share with you a little bit about strobing. I Know.. I know.. I am not a beauty guru and most importantly, I am not a Contouring or Strobing Expert either. So, I found the coolest and easiest way to share this process with you.

Per Cosmopolitan:

Strobing Is the New Contouring.

What is strobing, you ask? It’s a fun term for highlighting, basically. Forget everything you learned about contouring (it was hard to master, anyway). Extra highlighting will give you a dewy, shimmery, more youthful glow. But because “dewy” can turn into “sweaty” super-quick, here are a few tips to keep you on the right track.

Here’s How to Do It Without Looking Like a Hot Mess.

1. Prep your skin with a hydrating moisturizer.

2. Use a highlighter shade that best matches your skin tone.

3. Only use the highlighter in spots that catch light

4. After you’ve applied the highlighter, blend it out with your fingers, a fan brush, or a damp makeup sponge.

5. If you have oily skin, opt for matte bronzer, blush, or other facial products, and only use a shimmery highlighter.

Now, on with this Paris Hilton Strobing Kit.

The packaging is presentable at first glance and that is probably the reason why it immediately caught my attention. It’s made out of cardboard (I believe) but in a classy way (perhaps Paris Hilton made sure that this won’t look cheap) and it’s actually pretty well made. I tried looking for a link on this product but I didn’t have any luck so let me walk you through this instead.

This kit comes with six pretty shades, it’s NOT highly pigmented but it’s not too bad either. For beginners and if you are still practicing the “strobing technique” then this is definitely a great starter kit.

This palette reminds me so much of the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette. I mean just visually inspired but 100% different in price point and it’s quality of course.

What I’m pleased about this $4.99 palette is that, they are wearable. The first shade (1) is a little bit powdery but very much tolerable (I can actually skip that shade if I want to). If you can see clearly on the swatches, you barely see some products around the strikes.. they are soft and smooth which applies easily on your skin.

Infact, I used shade “3 “as an eyeshadow, it’s a gold shade which I love and it blends really well too. While shade “2” is such a beautiful highlighter with a very subtle shimmer that is great for an everyday wear.

I can also see myself reaching for these three shades right here , most especially the blushes “5” and “6“.

Shades 5 & 6 are surprisingly pigmented with such a gorgeous color that’s great for the spring season.

I was browsing for product reviews and link on this palette but I couldn’t find one but instead I found her Instagram link with this post. I guess this Paris Hilton Cosmetics Line is new? Is it cruelty-free? I hope so! 🙂

Would I recommend this Paris Hilton Strobing Kit? Yes! without a doubt. For the price of $4.99 and a decent quality? why not!

What do think? Have you heard about this palette too?

How about a little Essence…

ESSENCE WAS STARTED IN 2001 BY CHRISTINA, A FEARLESS ENTREPRENEURIAL WOMAN, WHO WANTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENT COSMETICS BRAND – A REALLY FUN BRAND THAT OFFERS BOTH GREAT QUALITY AND EXCELLENT PRICES.

I’m sure it’s not new to you that I love me my essence LashMania mascara and the essence Silky Touch blush too! So I had to explore and found a few more. (Isn’t that a rhyme? HAHA)

“Soft as silk! The Silky Touch Blush has an ultra silky texture that blends evenly and easily. Add a touch of natural freshness and radiance to your complexion. Available in four glowing shades”

I am in-love with this essence SILKY TOUCH BLUSH not just because of it’s affordability ($2.99), but because of its formulation. From the name itself Silky Touch, this blush is very soft, highly pigmented and super smooth. With just a tiny product on the tip of your blush brush, you will definitely have a naturally glowing cheeks.

Shades:

  1. Adorable (10)
  2. Babydoll (20)
  3. Life’s a Cherry (60)
  4. Autumn Peach (80)

It’s unfortunate that my favorite essence LashMania mascara might have been discontinued. I had to search the web and found this site indianproductsonnet that sells essence LashMania mascara for $21.95 each?!? aahhmm no thanks!! LOL

I found the ALL EYES ON ME MASCARA with high hopes. It cost me $2.99 at Target as well as on their site

The brush is very different from what I’m used to. It has a short brush, tiny and thin. This makes it easier to reach those bottom lashes, buildable and applies smoothly. I’ve tried this a few times and so far I’m impressed!

VERDICT:

  • Volume √
  • Holds the curl √
  • No fall-outs nor flakes √
  • Smudge proof √
  • No clumps √
  • Ophthalmologically approved √
  • Affordable √
  • Lengthening – OK (not a show-stopping-length but not disappointing)
  • Waterproof – No – (but it stays on really really well and very easy to remove)
  • Great for an everyday look √

Eyeliner?!? I am still looking for the perfect eyeliner that is WATERPROOF, SMUDGE PROOF and AFFORDABLE  too!

This EASY 2 USE JUMBO EYELINER has a large tapered felt tip which is great for your ideal cat-eye look.

You can do a thin or thick line on your lid depending on your mood.

VERDICT:

  • Waterproof √ (literally WATERproof)
  • SMUDGE PROOF √ (Smudge proof on WATER or on dry surface of your skin)
  • Affordable √
  • Good for OILY EYELID down

Would I recommend this EASY 2 USE JUMBO EYELINER? If you have an oily eyelid like me, I will never recommend this at all. This eyeliner melted on my lid on my first application and with one swipe, it vanished. I have read mixed reviews on this eyeliner and majority of the reviews are down. BUT! If you don’t have an oily eyelid then you might want to give this a try. I washed my hand after I swatched this and it stayed on like a glue! (I will share a quick video on Instagram showing this eyeliner on my hand)

To sum it all, I still love the essence Silky Touch Blush and the All Eyes On Me MascaraEssence Cosmetics are not tested on animals, majority of their products are made in Europe with a very high quality in a super affordable price.

If you want to know more about essence Cosmetics click HERE, reading their story is very uplifting and it makes want to support them even more.

Any eyeliner recommendation guys?

Let’s talk Simple…

Skincare

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a post about my Skincare Routine. If you’ve followed my journey you know how I struggled in finding the best facial products for my sensitive skin.

There are some products from Simple that I no longer use, while some stayed and have discovered something new.

First, let me re-introduce those that have stayed.

When my skin is feeling dull and needed some exfoliating, SIMPLE EXFOLIATING FACIAL WIPES is my answer. I love how gentle this wipes are and it definitely exfoliates my skin well leaving it clean and clear again. It has a resealable pack to keep the wipes moist, very convenient for travelling and it smells really clean and fresh. It comes with 25 wipes in one pack and this retails for $4.78 at Walmart.

Simple goodness

2 added vitamins: Pro-Vitamin B5 known to help restore, soften and smooth; Vitamin E known to moisturize and improve skin condition

1 skin-loving ingredient: Aloe vera known to soothe and condition

  • No dyes
  • No artificial perfumes
  • No harsh irritants to upset skin
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Ophthalmologist tested
  • Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Non-comedogenic

To keep my skin hydrated and moisturized, SIMPLE REPLENISHING RICH MOISTURIZER is my go-to product. It’s non-sticky or thick in consistency and it absorbs easily on your skin which is great. It does have a “not-so flattering” scent but it’s tolerable because the smell doesn’t stay on your skin that long nor it lingers which is good. I just apply a dime sized amount onto my face and down to my neck to balance the moisture and that’s it! I am ready to apply my make-up. This retails for $5.97 at Walmart.

Simple goodness

1 added vitamin: Pro-Vitamin B5 known to help restore, soften and smooth

3 skin-loving ingredients: Chamomile known to help gently soften and soothe; Glycerin hydrates and nourishes;Geranium

  • No dyes
  • No artificial perfumes
  • No harsh irritants to upset skin
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Non-comedogenic

I’m sure sure you’ve seen this SIMPLE MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER a few times on my posts and this Micellar water is great! It feels comfortable on the skin, it doesn’t feel sticky or “yucky”. It cleanses and keeps my skin hydrated too. Just like the moisturizer, it does have a slight scent to it as well (light earthy smell) it’s hard to describe but again it doesn’t bother me because the smell goes away so quickly. This retails for $5.97 at Walmart and the size of this bottle is pretty good too for what it’s worth.

Simple goodness:

Triple Purified Water: Our purest possible water to minimize potential for irritation from particles or contaminants that can irritate skin.

Vitamin B3: Known to restore, soften and smooth skin. It’s especially great for those with dry skin.

Vitamin C: A water soluble antioxidant vitamin for skin.

Hexylene Glycol: Helps dissolve makeup and kindly conditions the skin

And last but not the least, let me introduce the newest member of my Simple family.

I’ve used this for a few months now and have repurchased this several times. I love this SIMPLE MICELLAR MAKEUP REMOVER WIPES more than the SIMPLE MICELLAR CLEANSING WATERI like that I don’t need to use cotton pads (I get skin irritation sometimes if I use cotton pads) and the wipes itself is very smooth. The scent is more pleasant than the water and I don’t find this messy too. Very convenient to carry around and it has a resealable pack that helps the wipes moist all the time. It removes my make-up easily in just one wipe (I mean if you have a full on makeup then I guess you need more than one) it feels really light and fresh on the skin. It consist of 25 wipes and similar to the ones mentioned above, this cost me $5.97 at Walmart.

Simple goodness:

SKIN LOVING INGREDIENTS

  • Vitamin B – Known to restore, soften and smooth skin.
  • Vitamin E – Known to improve skin’s condition by replenishing and moisturizing
  • Triple-purified water – Is our purest possible water, that helps minimize the risk of irritations.
  • No alcohol, no oil – Means that skin feels clean and hydrated, not dry or greasy.
  • No artificial perfume or color – That might upset your skin making it perfect for even sensitive skin.
  • Micelles – Our clever cleansing bubbles which are smart enough to attract and lift make-up and impurities out of your skin without leaving it dry or tight.

What adores me the most with Simple Skincare products is that, they are very gentle on my super sensitive skin. It is Hypoallergenic, it also consists of some vitamins to keep your skin healthy and smooth and they are made from all natural ingredients which is safe for everyone to use (I am not concerned about the scent as it’s very tolerable, I’m sure to some the smell is nothing but I am just very sensitive to anything that’s why I noticed it immediately) AND of course.. very affordable too and can be found at any drugstores near you. 🙂

How about you? have you tried any products from Simple?

Polish of the Week!

I love nail polishes, may it be name brand, drugstore or brand that you’ve never heard or seen before. For the past years, I’ve accumulated quite a lot but gave away a ton keeping the ones that I’ve reached the most. One of the few polishes I’ve kept is from the brand SinfulColors I purchased them at Walmart, they are pretty affordable and only cost $1.99 each.

I have  been doing my nails since forever and believe it or not, I’ve only been to a nail salon once. YES, just ONE TIME and that was a few hours before my flight coming here in the USA for the very first time (I ran out of time so I had to get it done quick). So, If you want to know how I take care of my nails, here is a link to my previous post Polish of the Week! and I still do the same exact step to date.

So, here are the things that I used for my nails/polish for this week.

  • Base Coat – OPI
  • Nail Polish/polishes
  • Nail Art and Dotting Tool
  • Top Coat – Rimmel London

I went shopping without any intention of purchasing another nail polish (will post a nail polish haul soon by the way) but SinfulColors just came out with their KYLIE JENNER Collection (NO I AM NOT A FAN OF THE JENNER/KARDASHIAN FAMILY) but the shade options on this collection are just beautiful that I had to pick one. This is called SINFULSHINE with Gel Tech (Gel Tech??) so that made me curious even more.

SinfulColors in Palm Breeze is one of my past purchases. I love the subtle shimmer effect on this nail polish and it’s quick dry too so that’s a huge plus for me. I picked to use this shade for this week as I cannot wait for spring and start wearing more bright or pastel colors.

SinfulShine in Slay Grey is from the Kylie Collection with a shimmering effect as well. It’s obviously in a nice silvery-grey shade which I can use as an accent or simply use this by itself.

So here’s what I came up with!

I don’t see any difference on the formulation on the SinfulCOLORS to the SinfulSHINE with Gel Tech collection. I couldn’t even see the “Gel” effect on this nail polish. However, both nail polishes are quick dry, it has a slight scent (typical nail polish scent) but it doesn’t linger and like I mentioned above, they have a WIDE variety of color selection.

“All made in the USA, with the quality you expect from a leading nail brand, without formaldehyde, toluene and DBP.”

If you want to know more about Formaldehyde click HERE, for Toluene click HERE and DBP (Dibutyl phthalate) click HERE.

I added a touch of bling to the nail just for fun! ❤

Perhaps, I would purchase a different color and apply multiple coats to see the “Gel Tech” effect that they’re talking about. HAHA

Have you guys tried this SinfulColors/SinfulShine nail polishes?
