Play! by Sephora (April)

It’s that time again and my Play! by Sephora for the month of April review is up.

As always, we received five sample sized items and a bonus fragrance too.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner

This eye pencil is super intense, very smooth and definitely waterproof! I love how this pencil glides on my eye area and it didn’t irritate my eyes. This is in the shade matte black.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Waterproof Eye Makeup

And because I received a waterproof, budge-proof Aqua XL Eye Pencil from Make Up For Ever, I needed a great waterproof eye makeup remover too! My eyes are very sensitive and this eye makeup remover from the Sephora collection is amazing! It removes any waterproof eye makeup or products that I have on, especially the hard to remove mascaras and it works really well. It feels very light and comfortable on my eyes and even on my skin and it doesn’t feel oily at all.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

I have read mixed reviews on this Intensive Exfoliator from Kate Somerville and I’m glad to received a sample product to try it myself. First and foremost, this ExfoliKate smells good, some aren’t a fan of the scent but I personally like it. I feel like I’m in a spa when I have this product on my face. It feels very cooling and soothing on my skin too. I like how gentle this product is but yet leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and very clean. Will I consider to purchase the full-size? Yes, I would!

Papaya, Pineapple, and Pumpkin Enzymes: Naturally exfoliate dead skin cells, without over-drying.
-Lactic Acid: Acts as a natural AHA skin exfoliator.
-Rosewood and Cinnamon Extracts: Combine to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
-Aloe Vera, Honey, and Vitamin E: Smooth and soften skin.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream

I’ve heard about this product from several YouTube Beauty Gurus and I’m so happy that I received this in my box. It’s just the perfect time to try this especially with the change in season, sometimes it’s cold and sometimes it’s warm. This Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream is Amazing! It’s a great moisturizer, very lightweight gel like consistency but not greasy or oily when applied. My skin feels very hydrated throughout the day and it didn’t break me out which is a huge plus! Wonderful product indeed.

Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer

This is probably my fourth sample-sized Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer that I received from my monthly subscription boxes but I couldn’t complain because this primer performs really beautifully! Though my mom doesn’t wear makeup that often but I wanted to hear her thoughts on this primer and she was amazed! She loved how smooth and flawless her face looks after applying her foundation. And I agree, this primer is one of the best primers I’ve tried.

Bonus Fragrance

Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy

Am I the only person that don’t have the full sized bottle of this Marc Jacobs Daisy fragrance? The reason I asked because most women I know has one, seen photos on Instagram and everywhere else too. However, every time I go to the store to check this out, I always find it too florally which I’m not a fan of. Since I received this sample bottle, I was able to test it regularly. During my first try, I really couldn’t handle the super strong floral scent. On my second, it’s still the same. But I noticed that as long as I get through the overwhelming floral scent then the after smell is beautiful. I really wish I can handle the initial “floral scent” because it has one of the nicest sophisticated scent there is. No wonder why so many of you fell in love with this fragrance! But don’t worry, this sample bottle didn’t go to waste, coz my mom is in love with this scent so much! 🙂

And that’s all for now!

So far, this Play! by Sephora box is doing an awesome job with their products.

Let’s wait and see what’s in my next Play! by Sephora box.

I’ve subscribed to Ipsy for two years and I just cancelled it. I’ve seen Birchbox but most of the stuff I see didn’t interest me at all. So far I’Ve never been disappointed with Sephora yet. 😍

  1. Everything looks like a hit in this bag. I have the same size of the eye makeup remover and love it. Was always curious about the ExfoliKate, but never budged to get it because it’s so pricey.

Everything in this bag makes so much sense compared to Ipsy. And I agree on the ExfoliKate, its too pricey! But so far it’s really good though. 👍🏻

  2. Sounds like a good mix of products. I wish we had sephora in the UK as that eye makeup remover sounds great. I don’t have Daisy either though it seems to be one everyone has! I had a mini bottle with the flower on it in a set but I don’t think I’ve ever actually used it.

Oh glad I’m not alone on the Daisy fragrance, it smells nice after the initial scent goes away but just not my fave. And I hope they bring this Play! by Sephora in the UK too. I really like this subscription a lot! 😍

  3. It feels like the packaging for the Sephora Play subscriptions just get better and better! I love the cute draw string bags I would use them all the time! I got a tiny sample of the PTR Water Drench moisturizer and I really liked it.
Really good items this month! Fingers crossed this comes to Canada soon!

The PTE is such a nice base for my foundation, and the draw strings bag are really cute! It’s nice to use especially for travel. And yes, it would be great if they bring this box there too! I’m sure you’ll love it. 😍
