As always, I got my Ipsy (February) Glam Bag late but that didn’t stop me from trying the products out for this post.
And without further talk, let’s begin.
Let’s take a moment and stare at this bag. To be honest, this didn’t make me a happy camper. I find this bag “hideous”. The denim and orange accent just didn’t appeal to me. I was really hoping that since it’s for the month of February then it’s more on the romantic theme. But this only reminded me of a “retro” vibe. I don’t know, but that’s just how I feel about this “Glam Bag”!
How about the items in the bag?
The very first thing that I saw when I opened the packaging was a makeup brush.
Luxie Beauty Luxie Rose Gold Blush Brush 514 – I get really happy when I receive makeup brushes from Luxie Beauty because their brushes are amazing! This brush is super soft and just the perfect size to apply blushes or even highlighter.
-
The bristles are vegan, synthetic, and cruelty-free.
-
Soft and fluffy bristles combined with the small domed shape make this great for dusting on highlighter.
The Organic Pharmacy Lip & Eye Cream – I was very hesitant to apply this on my lips because if you’re not aware, I have a super sensitive lips. My lips don’t work well with any lip products so I have to be very cautious with what I apply on my lips. I’ve tried this lip & eye cream on my lips and it felt really moisturized and soft. I am not a fan of the smell though (it’s hard to explain). I will leave the ingredients below and this might give you a little bit of idea as to the scent.
This also claims to reduce puffiness, dark circles and line but I never noticed any difference at all.
-
On your eyes, it reduces puffiness, dark circles, and lines.
- On your pout, it hydrates and makes lips look plump and moist.
Ingredients
aqua (water), squalane (vegetable), *glycerin, *cera alba, cetearyl ethythexanoate, caprylic/caprio, triglyceride, polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate, polyglyceryl-3 ricinoleate, sorbitan, sesquioleate, sucrose distearate, *vaccinium myrtillus fruit extract, *euphrasia officinalis extract, *foeniculum vulgare root extract, benzyl alcohol, magnesium sulphate, *aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, salicylic acid, citrus aurantium amara (neroli) flower oil, *boswellia carterii (frankincense) oil, tocopherol, sorbic acid, parfum (essential oils)
*denotes organically produced ingredient
True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask – This resurfacing moisture mask is surprisingly nice. This kept my skin feeling soft after use. This is a gel like consistency but runny at the same time (weird). I would love to use this mask again however, I CANNOT stand the smell at all, it’s too strong. It sure does have a hint of citrus on it but other than that it smells confusingly overwhelming. I even asked my hubby to smell it for me and he said the same thing (Ugghh what’s that?). Ingredients will be listed below for your reference.
-
Go from a dull complexion to one that’s insanely glowy in five minutes, flat.
-
Per our point above, it’s a must-use when there’s no time for complicated skincare or before a big event.
-
It both exfoliates (with lactic acid) and hydrates (with avocado butter), the ultimate dream team for scoring radiant skin.
Ingredients
camellia sinensis (green & white tea)* leaf extract, glycerin (vegetable glycerin)*, lactic acid, mangifera indica (mango) butter, persea gratissima (avocado) butter, solanum tuberosum (potato) flour, xanthan gum, haematococcus pulvialis (astaxanthin from red pond algae), simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, phenethyl alcohol**, ethylhexylglycerin**, tuberosa (tuberose) flower extract, trachelospermum jasminoides (star jasmine) flower extract, citrus aurantium (neroli) flower oil * organic
NYX Professional Makeup Butter Lipstick in Ripe Berry or Lifeguard – This butter lipstick from NYX is not new to me. As always, it’s still a great product. Very creamy and long lasting too. I got the shade Lifeguard and it’s a beautiful dark red shade which I love.
- Lifeguard, a deep magenta, is bold but wearable—even for babes too shy to rock a statement lip. We grab it on days when we don’t want to commit to full-on red.
Hikari Cosmetics Cream Pigment Eye Shadow in Latte – Another product from HIKARI cosmetics and as always, this eyeshadow is highly pigmented. This cream pigment is super unique. It’s described as cream pigment but this applies like powder. Definitely blendable and also wearable. I don’t have any shade like this in my collection so I’m really happy with it!
-
Don’t be fooled by the name, there’s nothing milky about this metallic copper.
-
It’s so richly pigmented that even a tiny bit makes your eyes pop.
- You can use it three ways: Brush it on for a bold metallic shadow, swipe on with your fingertips for a messier smoky look, or use a liner brush and create a gleaming cat eye.
And that’s all for now!
Ugh that mask just did not smell good – I think that it is the jasmine. I couldn’t use it.

I have to agree with you on the bag. WTF? It looks like a pencil case from the nineties.

I’m very particular about denim. Only like it in a few things. I think jeans and jackets are my limit

It’s funny Cheila said the pouch looks like it’s from the nineties, I think I said the same on Five Zero’s review of this one. Love the tone of Latte, bet it would look really pretty applied against your skintone

I agree, the bag is just a NO to me. But yes, Latte is really gorgeous and like I mentioned on the post, I don’t think I have a shade similar to this. this will look pretty on the lower lash line if applied carefully. 🙂

This is such a nice bag! I almost want to subscribe again but I don’t know! I keep seeing luxie Beauty brushes and I want nothing more than that lol. The NYX butter lippie is such a gorgeous shade!
Too bad about the moisture mask.

I am planning of cancelling Ipsy come April. I’m tired of seeing such hits and misses every month. I will stick with Sephora I guess. So far, they have been really great to me. 🙂

I’ve been thinking about re-subscribing to ipsy LOL. When I was subscribed a got pretty good products, I don’t remember ever getting any that I didn’t like. I do want to give it a shot again, I only cancelled because I needed to save LOL.

Oh by “such a nice bag” I meant its contents not the bag itself. I agree. It’s hideous lol.
