Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick

Lipstalk

Hello!

Today is a quick lipstick review for all of us. I purchased these lipsticks a couple of months back and have tested them for a good period of time.

I first saw these Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick at our local CVS Pharmacy and I got really excited because I used to love Max Factor products while I was living in the Philippines. But for whatever reason, Max Factor wasn’t that accessible here in the U.S or in our little city anyway. There were only two shades available when they were launched so I immediately bought them both. Now, there are more shades to choose from which is great!

So without further talk, let’s take a closer look!

Colour Elixir Lipstick provides lips with moisture. Visibly smoother and refined lips in just 7 days. The formulation consists of 60 percent skincare ingredients with Silk complex as moisturizing Shea butter.

Pros:

  • The gold packaging is beautiful and elegant (I’m a sucker of gold packaging and gold in general)
  • I like how you can easily see the shade from the packaging
  • The color payoff is gorgeous
  • Smells lovely (shea butter)
  • Very moisturizing (non-drying)
  • Super smooth and buttery
  • Feels amazing on the lips
  • Semi-matte and velvety finish
  • Long lasting
  • comes in 21 shades

Cons:

I’m not sure why the shade is named Maroon Dust when I don’t see any hint of maroon on this lipstick when applied on your lips. While, Simply Nude on the other hand is pretty. It’s a bit pale or on a lighter shade of pink which is again, way off to be called “nude”.

The camera didn’t do justice on the swatches but if you can find this lipsticks near you, be sure to check them out. Other than the names that are way off from the color itself. I love these lipsticks so much! If only they are more affordable than what it’s currently worth.

Have you guys tried any of the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipsticks?

  1. What, Max Factor is back in the US?
The packaging reminds me a lot of the CoverGirl Coloricious lipsticks, which makes sense since they’re the same company.
Both of the shades are so wearable, I would totally grab both of them like you did! But yeah… the names don’t match. I’d change “Maroon Dust” to “Toffee Tease”, and change “Simple Nude” to “First Blush”. 😀

Yes, they only have a small display at CVS and I did share a pic comparison on the packaging between CG, MF and Milani.. very similar.. And the color is way off. But the formulation is way better than CG lipsticks though.
