April Favorites! <3

Wow! April went by just like that and I hope I’m not yet late for my April Favorites.

I have been very minimal for the month of April and I’ve been wearing almost the same products all the time. I’ve been very careful with the products I applied on my face as you all know I’m still trying to cure some sparkles. Soon, I will post my updated skincare routine that made a huge difference on my skin. But before doing that, let me show you the products that I loved for the past month.

Quick shopping! #Haul

I am so proud of myself as I was able to survive the entire month of April without buying any makeup at all. I may have had few discount coupons emailed to me but I stayed strong and didn’t fall for it. A HUGE Shout Out to my Cyber-Friends for giving me the boost to stay tough. 🙂 (high five you guys!!)

Now, it’s the 2nd day of May and I kind of bought just a few items. The first two items I grabbed is the Revlon ColorBurst – Lacquer Balm. I love these balms so much as they are very hydrating on the lips. I also love how they smell. It’s almost like the smell of a toothpaste as it smells “minty” and they glide on your lips like butter. My Holy Grail..

The very first lipstick that I’ve been obsessed with was MAC lip products. From the packaging, to it’s quality and most of all their wide range of lipstick shades. There are so many colors to choose from and they are just one of the best lipsticks out there.

Then there came along all the awesome drugstore products that we all love.

However, couple of years ago, I experienced something that no one can explain. Every time I put on lipstick my lips just went insane. They turned so dry, chapped, very flakey with some really really tiny red bumps that felt like sand around my lips or on the lip line (I would say) then they just feel like it’s burning when I put either lipstick or lip balm. It’s was really embarrassing at one point especially when you’re talking to someone. All they see is this very unflattering look on my lips.. (even if I have a photo of my lips during that time, I will never ever show it to anyone) that’s how bad it was..

I’ve tried almost all lip balms out there and even tried some cold sore medications, baby products, nipple cream (yes! you read it right..nipple cream) or anything that will help heal my lips or moisturize them but I had no luck.

I ended up going to my primary care provider hoping that she can recommend a medication to heal my lips. She then recommended that I visit a dermatologist. I went to two dermatologist but none of them helped me with my problem. Both dermatologist said, “it’s just a cold sore” and one said my lips are just too dry but it’s unusual for the weather because normally, dry lips happen during winter. They gave me prescription but it made my problem even worse.

I almost lost hope until I noticed that there’s this product that I felt like I just kept ignoring. You can find it on the checkout counter either at CVS, Walmart or any other drugstore around. I thought maybe it’s still one of those products that is just a waste of time and no positive result. I also thought maybe because it’s so cheap then it might not even be effective. But let’s admit, some cheap products are the ones who have the best result and that’s what convinced me to try this product.

This is the Carmex Original SPF 15 Moisturizing Lip Balm.

IMG_1185IMG_1186If you are suffering from chapped lips or infrequent cold sores, then the Carmex Original SPF 15 Moisturizing Lip Balm Stick is a smart choice. The SPF 15 lip balm was invented by Alfred Woelbing in Milwaukee in the early 1930s . from a variety of natural ingredients. Today, this Carmex Lip Balm Stick, is still formulated with natural ingredients to provide you with relief. This SPF 15 Lip Balm soothes, protects and also heals your lips from cracking and peeling. It is not only a lip moisturizer; it is also contains germ killing menthol and phenol to speed up the healing process. It contains natural ingredients such as beeswax, seed oil, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter to mention just a few. It also has active sunscreen agents to protect your lips from sun damage.

Since I’ve used Carmex, it became a part of my necessities.  Mind you, I stopped wearing lipstick for I would say at least two years. I had to go to work, talk to people and even attend a party without lipstick. Sometimes when I use lipstick, I had to remove them right away because they feel so uncomfortable on my lips (sad right??…very sad)..

Since then I became very picky when I put on any lip products because I am not getting that lip problem ever again. I also noticed that one major cause of my lips from getting chapped/dry is the MAC lipsticks. I had to get rid of most of my MAC lipsticks because I know they are not good for me even if I use my Carmex before using the lipstick. Luckily there’s more lipstick options out there that I don’t need to buy MAC to have a pretty lips. 🙂

Now, this Carmex (Original Moisturizing) Lip Balm comes with me everywhere I go. I have one at work, in my car, my hubby’s car, my purse, my makeup drawer and an extra pack in case I will lose one. I love this product so much which I am so Grateful and so Thankful that I gave it a try. I can now wear lipstick of my choice and can show my lips with or without lipstick anytime anywhere.

This is the what we call “underdog” lip products out there but this baby saved my lips and what makes it even better is it’s price, very very affordable and I paid $1.59 each.

So yeah! meet my Carmex, my Saviour! 🙂
