Just a couple of weeks back I had to clean up my makeup pile and got rid of some items that I don’t really use and kept the ones that I know I love. First item that I thought I’d share with you is something that I use daily. Though I don’t wear any eyeshadows or makeup everyday, I like to have some mascara’s on.

I narrowed my mascaras down to eight. Why eight? I am not sure but it just so happened that I ended up keeping eight.

Maybelline

Let’s take a closer look..

If I want more volume on my eyelashes, I always reach for the Maybelline Volum’ Express Pumped Up! Colossal Waterproof Mascara. As you can see, the brush itself is thick which helps pick up the lashes better to give you a bold and fuller eyelashes. It doesn’t have any fall-outs nor flakes, it’s waterproof which I love. I find it hard to reach the smaller lashes though or the corner of your eyes due to the thickness of the brush. The wand bends a little bit which is OK but sometimes I find it annoying because if I loose control then I ended up having mascara all over my lid.

I am not sure what is the main purpose of the design on the wand though and this mascara doesn’t add much length too if you’re looking for volume and “Length”. It doesn’t hold the curl that much compared to the other mascaras I have. But overall great for everyday use if you’re going for a natural look.

Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara is one of my favorite everyday mascara. It has the “fanning brush” which I became a fan of, another waterproof mascara which to me is a must! This mascara provides volume, length and holds the curl really well. Two coats of this mascara will definitely give you a full-on volumized eyelashes with beautiful length. No flakes, no fall-outs, the wand doesn’t bend which is a good thing and great for top and bottom lashes too. I have no negative comments about this product at all.

Fun facts: This is Maybelline New York’s first sensational full fan effect mascara. Maybelline’s first patented fanning brush with 10 layers of bristles reveals a full flourish of lashes.

 

COVERGIRL

COVERGIRL Clump Crusher Extensions Lashblast Mascara Very Black is another mascara that I used to love so much. The brush is not big, not full or thick. It doesn’t have a “liquidy” ink compared to other mascaras out there (I really thought I bought a dried out product when I first opened it). However, this mascara does hold the curl really well. In fact I don’t need an eyelash curler when I use this mascara. It gives volume in a natural way, it applies very smoothly and most of all it’s buildable too. The curved brush helps reduce the lashes from clumping and it’s very easy to remove. I am not sure if this is waterproof though but they do not smudge on my lid nor smudge under the heat or rain.

Covergirl The Super Sizer by LashBlast(r) Mascara is my most recent purchase and discovery. But, even if I’ve used this for just a few days it immediately captured my attention. The brush looks deceiving right? but don’t be fooled by it! This mascara does have a very thin brush with super short bristles but “man” this mascara is THE BEST! If you want volume, length, curl, waterproof without flaking or smudging then this is the mascara for you. From the name itself “Super Sizer” it definitely super-sized your eyelashes whether your top lashes nor bottom lashes. I will give this mascara 5 stars without a doubt!

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara

I received this mascara from one of my Ipsy Glam Bag! (November) and I am still impressed.

The brush is full and thick, the formulation is very smooth when applying on the lashes. It gives length and great volume. No clumps, no flaking, no parabens and no smudging too. Another great item for your lashes (of course it’s from Smashbox what else can you expect!).

Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara

I received a sample/travel size of this Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara and without a doubt I am certain that this would be a great product. The brush shapes perfectly for fuller lash effect, the tip can be used on the lower lashes while it gives full volume on the top lashes. The product itself is thick which makes it harder to build-up because it tends to clump when applying more than one coat. But! why do you need two or more coats when one coat is enough for volume and length that you want. As always another great product from Lancôme.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

I am not sure where to start with this mascara. I’ve heard a lot of beauty gurus and beauty bloggers talked about this BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA VOLUPTUOUS VOLUME MASCARA . It was for sure a hit when I first tried it. However, this became my least favorite mascara of them all. First is the brush, I am not sure about the thickness and the shape of it, it looks messy to me and I also find it hard to reach the short lashes on my eyes because of how this brush is shaped. The packaging is cute though and the name is definitely unique, you will for sure remember this name no matter what (LOL). But, this mascara flaked and smudged on me. Every time I use this mascara, I noticed some fall-outs on my face and smudges on my bottom lashes or on the side corner of my eyes. It didn’t provide length, volume perhaps but majority of the time this mascara is a disappointment. I didn’t get rid of this because I wanted to give it a second chance but I guess no more third chance this time around. Sorry Too Faced but this is just not for me.

Last but not the least!

essence LASH mania reloaded mascara

I’m sure some of you have seen me shared this mascara a few times before. It’s been on my Monthly Favorites consistently (October/November Favorites!) (July Favorites!) and will for sure be my number one mascara forever (hopefully). This is from the brand essence cosmetics and bought this out of a whim. The wand is long, it has a star-shaped brush and the brush feels like soft rubber (elastic feel). It separates the lashes evenly, no clumps, no smudges, not sure if it’s waterproof but this stays really long on my lashes. Great for day and night.. I can go on and on and on about this product if I have to. Volume? YES! Length? YES! Holds curl? YES! and most importantly IT’S NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS. I give this mascara a Perfect score!
